Alexjazz: A Ukrainian Artist Beyond Genre Boundaries

Alexjazz, whose real name is Oleksiy Kyrychenko, is a Ukrainian artist, rapper, music manager, and cultural figure. He is also the founder and owner of the independent label "GRAI" (ГРАЙ). In his solo project, Alexjazz combines original music with a fresh take on cultural heritage: he reimagines Ukrainian funk from the 1970s and 1980s and creates songs based on poetry by Ukrainian authors, including poets of the Executed Renaissance. His sound blends hip-hop, post-punk, and funk with elements of folk and electronic music.

How the Alexjazz Project Developed

Oleksiy has been making music for more than ten years. Before launching his solo career, he was a member of "Koda Band" and "Kickit Crew". Together with the latter collective, he also organized the "Wicked Kickit" series of hip-hop events. The Alexjazz solo project grew out of musical experiments that brought hip-hop, jazz, and folk together in a distinctive sound.

Alongside his own work, Oleksiy Kyrychenko has collaborated with Ukrainian and international artists, including Oleksandr Polozhynskyi, Iryna Shvaidak (Odyn v Kanoe), Morphom, Kolos (Fiolet), Anton Chilibi, Artem Cheros, Zom (UK), Gas Lab (Argentina), Oliver Lowe (Czech Republic), Szwed Swd (Poland), and others.

Alexjazz Music: Experiments and Remixes

Alexjazz's discography includes several full-length studio albums, solo tracks, and numerous collaborations. The artist has released the albums "Photoalbum" and "Ф'южн", as well as the joint project "Panorama" with The Cancel. His solo singles "Сірники", "Моя любов", and "Смутний" have become especially popular on YouTube and Spotify.
