Babymetal: the Japanese metal band that conquered the world

Babymetal, a vocal and dance group originally created as a sub-unit of the Sakura Gakuin group, consists of vocalist "Su-metal" (Suzuka Nakamoto) and backing vocalists "Moametal" (Moa Kikuchi) and "Momometal" (Momoko Okazaki) and has become one of the most famous and successful Japanese bands on the global music scene.

Babymetal is distinguished by its unique kawaii metal style, which combines heavy metal and Japanese idol culture, making their performances special: they not only sing but also perform choreography, which is innovative for the metal genre.

Babymetal's stage image is also unique, as the band has its own lore on which their work is based. All songs, albums, and concert tours are united by a single concept, which makes this musical project even more compelling.

Babymetal appeared on the music scene in 2010, and four years later they achieved their first major success with the release of their self-titled album. In addition to their breakthrough debut, the albums Metal Resistance, Metal Galaxy, and The Other One were equally successful, with their biggest hits including "Gimme Chocolate!!", "Megitsune", and "KARATE".

Babymetal's work has been recognized not only through popularity and the love of fans, but also through numerous music awards and nominations, including from MTV Europe Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards Japan.

Babymetal tour extensively. Their busy concert schedule and number of tours allow fans around the world to enjoy the band's performances live. Almost every year since the tour in support of their debut album in 2014, Babymetal have embarked on a world tour. In addition, the band actively participates in music festivals not only in Japan but throughout the world and has shared the stage with such music giants as Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
