Babymetal is distinguished by its unique kawaii metal style, which combines heavy metal and Japanese idol, making their performances special as well, since they not only sing but also perform choreography, which is innovative for the metal genre.
Babymetal's stage image is also unique, as the band has its own legend on which their work is based. All songs, albums, and concert tours are united by a single idea, which makes this musical project even more interesting.
Babymetal appeared on the music scene in 2010, and four years later, they achieved their first major success with the release of their eponymous album. In addition to their breakthrough debut album, the albums Metal Resistance, Metal Galaxy, and The Other One were equally successful, with the biggest hits being “Gimme Chocolate!!”, “Megitsune”, and “KARATE”.
Babymetal's work has been recognized not only by the popularity and love of fans, but also by numerous music awards and nominations, including from MTV Europe Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards Japan.
Babymetal tours extensively. Their busy concert schedule and number of tours allow fans to enjoy the band's music live. Almost every year since their debut album tour in 2014, Babymetal has embarked on a world concert tour. In addition, the band actively participates in music festivals, not only in Japan but also around the world, and has performed with such music giants as Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Babymetal's live shows are impressive and captivating, combining singing, choreography, and stage mythology to create a spectacle that is both interesting and enjoyable to watch.
