History of the band Linkin Park

One of the most famous rock bands in world music was formed in 1996. It was started by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon, the rest of the members, including vocalist Chester Bennington, who came up with the name “Linkin Park”, joined later.

In 1999, Linkin Park signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records and began their great musical career with the release of their first studio album, Hybrid Theory, in 2000. The first album brought initial success: top spots on the charts, a music award for best video of the year, and over 4 million copies sold.

Just three years later, in 2003, Linkin Park released their second album, Meteora, which surpassed the success of its predecessor. The album won several awards and topped the Billboard chart in terms of sales. It was on this album that Linkin Park's legendary song Numb appeared. In 2007, the album Minutes to Midnight was released, which included the songs “What I've Done”, “Leave Out All The Rest”, “Given Up”, and others.

Three years later, the band released their fourth studio album, A Thousand Suns, followed by Living Things in 2012. The tracks “Waiting for the End”, “The Catalyst”, “Castle of Glass”, and “Burn It Down” became particularly popular from these two albums.

In 2014, Linkin Park independently produced and released the album The Hunting Party, Mike Shinoda's , described the sixth album as “90s hardcore punk trash”.

The last album with the classic lineup of the Chester Bennington era, One More Night, was released in the spring of 2017. In the summer of that year, the lead singer of Linkin Park tragically passed away, and the band members, fans, and representatives of the music industry took this loss very hard. Linkin Park took a break for several years, performing only at events dedicated to Bennington's memory.

Linkin Park's return to the big music scene was gradual, but 2024 can be considered the specific date of their revival. In September of that year, Linkin Park performed with a new lineup. The new vocalist was Emily Armstrong, and the drummer was Colin Brittain. In November, the band presented their eighth album, From Zero, which consists of 11 tracks, including the previously released single “The Emptiness Machine”.

Linkin Park combined electronic, rock, rap, heavy metal, and alternative music in their songs, creating a unique sound. They were one of the first bands to openly talk about emotional pain in their lyrics. The band's albums have become global bestsellers, their concerts are an incredible explosion of energy, and their fan base around the world is impressive.
