Madonna. A legend of world music.

The queen of pop music, the most famous artist in the world, Madonna Louise Ciccone, began her career performing with the Gilroy brothers, who had a small orchestra. After ending her collaboration with them, the singer created her own ensemble and later signed a contract with Sire Records. The artist then released two successful singles, followed in 1983 by her debut solo album Madonna, which brought the singer her first fame.

The presentation of the next album took place in 1984. Like a Virgin consists of nine tracks and two remixes, including the song “Material Girl”. The album topped the charts in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and the United States.

In the spring of 1985, the singer embarked on her first concert tour of North America. During The Virgin Tour, the singles “Angel” and “Dress You Up” were also released. Her third album, True Blue, was released in 1986, and five songs reached number one on the charts in the US and the UK. This album entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling female album of all time.

Following this, in 1989, Madonna released the album Like a Prayer, and in 1990, she embarked on a tour to promote the album, the Blond Ambition World Tour. The fifth album in the singer's career, Erotica, was released in 1992 and was promoted by the Girlie Show, which became Madonna's fourth tour.

1994 was marked by the release of the album Bedtime Stories, which again topped the charts, and her appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman as a guest. Four years later, Madonna released Ray of Light, which won four Grammy Awards: Best Pop Album, Best Dance Recording, and the title track won Best Dance Recording and Best Short Form Music Video.

At the turn of the millennium, Madonna released the album Music, inspired by electronic dance music, which was also well received. The singer presented her next album, American Life, in 2003, but it was not very successful. However, Confessions on a Dance Floor, released in 2005, won the Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album and, along with the single “Hung Up”, reached number one in 40 countries.

In 2008, the singer released the album Hard Candy, which went platinum and gold. In 2012, Madonna headlined the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show, followed by the release of her twelfth album, MDNA. In 2015, she released the album Rebel Heart, which featured collaborations with Kanye West, Avici, and Diplo. The tour in support of the album lasted about seven months. Madonna presented her next, fourteenth studio album, Madame X, in 2019.

In addition to studio albums, Madonna has also released several greatest hits compilations, remix albums, live albums, and compilation albums.

Madonna is considered one of the most outstanding artists of all time, has sold a record number of albums, and, in addition to the music industry, she also has a huge influence on fashion and is an activist for charitable and human rights organizations.
