Singer, poet, composer, and bandura player Maryna Krut, better known as KRUTЬ, combines indie soul with the sound of the bandura, a traditional Ukrainian instrument featured in each of her songs. In her music, KRUTЬ often explores relationships with oneself, love, and one's native land.

The beginning of her career

Maryna began studying music in childhood. She took her first steps toward professional education at the Khmelnytsky Children's School of Arts, where she mastered the bandura. She later continued her studies at the Vladyslav Zaremba Music College in Khmelnytsky. While still a student, Maryna took part in Ukrainian and international music competitions and won numerous awards.

Her first major step toward the big stage was participating in the Ukrainian version of X Factor with her solo project KRUTЬ. Maryna Krut did not reach the live shows, but she kept developing her career and continued to perform and create music.

In 2020, Maryna Krut took part in the national selection for Eurovision and performed the song "Kolyskova", finishing in third place.

KRUTЬ's music

KRUTЬ's first album, "Arche", was released in 2018, followed by the mini-album "Albino" the next year. One of the artist's most successful works is the album "Liteplo", which includes the songs "Lesia", "To take zhyttia", "Vsypana zoriamy", and others. Among Krut's popular singles are "Kvitnu z toboiu", "Zabery mene do sebe na Rizdvo", "Vir meni", "OK", as well as the collaboration with Phil It, "Bashtany".
