Who is Oleg Shumei:
Oleh Shumei, a Ukrainian singer and musician, better known as SHUMEI, is from the city of Dolyna, Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine. He comes from a family of musicians, his father is a flutist and his grandfather is an accordionist, so his choice of profession was obvious, given that he was surrounded by music since childhood. Already at a very young age, Oleh performed at competitions, where he repeatedly won.
After graduating from 9th grade, Oleh Shumei entered the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School. It was there that he learned to play the flute; besides this instrument, he also plays the piano, guitar, and various wind instruments. The next step in his education was entering the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy.
Big music career:
At the beginning of 2022, the young artist's career began to gain momentum. At the end of February, almost immediately after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, SHUMEI presented his debut song “Тривога”, and a short time later released a cover of the song “Біля тополі”, for which he later received the YUNA music award. Also, in 2022, SHUMEI, together with the singers LAUD and Ostap Drivko, took part in a charity tour in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After that, the singer released several more successful singles, and in 2023, his debut studio album “Комета”, 8 tracks, including the duet with Zlata Ognevich “Буревіями”, which became a huge success. This is not the only collaboration of SHUMEI with famous Ukrainian artists, in 2024, the performer presented two joint songs with Tina Karol “Стерва” and “Дзвони”, which also found a response in the hearts of fans.
SHUMEI's music is filled with a special depth, and the way he performs only enhances the emotions in his compositions. The artists are actively performing concerts in Ukraine and abroad, releasing new songs and doing charity work.
