Stepan Giga's musical career:

The path to success in the music field for Ukrainian artist Stepan Giga was not easy, although he showed his love for this art form since childhood. Despite taking accordion and vocal lessons as a child and participating in the “Зелені Карпати” ensemble, he was able to enter a music school in Uzhhorod only on his fourth try. 

After graduating from the Uzhorod Music School as an external student, the future Ukrainian pop star entered the National Music Academy of Ukraine, majoring in vocals. Already while studying at the institution, Stepan Giga participated and repeatedly won various competitions and festivals, and also became a soloist of the “Стожари” ensemble at the Chernihiv Philharmonic and worked as a soloist at the opera studio of the Kyiv Conservatory. After graduation, despite various job offers, including a soloist position at the National Opera, Stepan Giga returned to Zakarpattia and began working at the Zakarpattia Regional Philharmonic. At the same time, he founded the band “Друзі мої”, with which he performs to this day.

In 1991, as a promising vocalist, he also began to write songs and arrange them, and not long after he opened the “GIGARecords” recording studio, which has existed for over 30 years.

Stepan Giga released his first full-length album “Друзі мої” in 1995, featuring the songs “У райському саду(Яворина)”, “Любов та сон” and others. A few years later, Stepan Giga was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine, and later People's Artist of Ukraine.

Throughout his career, Stepan Giga has released many cult hits, including “Золото Карпат”, “Цей сон”, “Я поклав своє кохання на вівтар”, “Смереки осені не знають”, “За тебе все віддам”, “Друзі мої”, all of which have several million plays, and Stepan Giga himself has an incredible fan base. 

The artist performs extensively in Ukraine and abroad. You can also visit Stepan Giga's performances in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain and other European countries. At his concerts, he is often joined by the band “Друзі мої”, as well as his daughter Kvitoslava, son SteveG, grandson Daniel, who also connected their lives with music.
