A band that changed electronic music
The Prodigy, a British music band that gained worldwide fame by combining electronic music with rock and punk vocals. Throughout their career, they have constantly experimented with sound, starting with rave and dance, and later evolving into alternative rock and big beat compositions. The Prodigy remains wildly popular around the world, and for over 30 years, fans have eagerly awaited concerts in their countries.
The band was founded by producer, songwriter, and producer Liam Howlett. The classic lineup also included vocalist MC Maxim, front man and dancer Keith Flint, and dancer Leeroy Thornhill. The collaboration of these artists on stage and in the studio made The Prodigy a symbol of the electronic scene of the 1990s.
The development of The Prodigy
The Prodigy's musical career developed gradually and confidently, distinguished by the fact that they expanded the then-familiar sound of electronic music. The Prodigy's first hits, “Charly” and “Everybody in the Place,” reached the top of the British charts, and their first album, Experience, went platinum. Their second album, Music for the Jilted Generation, in which the musicians demonstrated a wider range of styles, won over listeners around the world and brought The Prodigy international recognition.
In the first ten years of their existence, The Prodigy created music that brought them worldwide fame and made them one of the most prominent representatives of electronic music. The Prodigy continues to surprise fans and plans to release a new album in 2026, featuring the band's new sound, described as “evil rave.”
The band's most successful releases
The Prodigy's first major commercial success came in the mid-90s, following the release of the track “Firestarter,” followed by the hit “Breathe” and their most successful album to date, The Fat of the Land. It is from this album, as well as the aforementioned Music for the Jilted Generation, that The Prodigy's biggest hits come from, including “No Good (Start the Dance),” “Voodoo People,” and “Smack My Bitch Up.” The hits “Omen,” and “Out of Space” also stood out. These songs had a significant impact on the development of electronic music and became symbols of the electronic music of that time.
Stage energy: live shows and tours
Starting with their first solo concert in London, The Prodigy established a reputation for spectacular live shows. Their concerts have a powerful atmosphere, and the energy of the music and performance overwhelms the audience. The Prodigy combines the mood of raves and punk aggression with the mood of rock performances, which also makes them one of the most prominent representatives at the world's largest festivals.
Live performances are The Prodigy's calling card, turning each of their appearances on stage into an explosion of drive that captivates every audience member.
