Ed Sheeran's musical career

British singer and musician Ed Sheeran began his musical journey in 2004 with the release of his first unofficial album, “Spinning Man”. The artist's first official release was the mini-album “The Orange Room” in 2005, followed by two more albums, “Ed Sheeran” and “Want Some?” in 2006 and 2007. 

Ed, then a novice musician, began performing regularly in 2008 after moving to London. The following year was a busy one, with Ed giving more than 300 concerts, releasing the mini-album “You Need E's”, and starting his studies at the Academy of Contemporary Music.In 2010, the musician released three more mini-albums: “Loose Change”, “Ed Sheeran: Live at the Bedford”, and “Songs I Wrote with Amy”. 

Ed Sheeran presented his debut full-length album in 2011. The “+”, which included the tracks “The A Team”, “Lego House”, “Drunk”, “Small Bimp”, “Kiss Me”, “Give Me Love” and others, became a real breakthrough for Ed, reaching number one in the UK.

In 2014, he released the album “×”, which included the songs “Photograph” and “Thinking Out Loud”, both of which have billions of streams on streaming platforms and are among the most popular songs of his career. In 2017, Ed Sheeran presented his third studio album, “÷”, as well as the single that became the singer's biggest hit, “Shape of You”, which has over 9 billion plays on YouTube Music.

Two years later, the musician released the album No.6 Collaborations Project, which consists mainly of songs featuring famous artists and bands, including Bruno Mars, Eminem, 50 Cent, Travis Scott, and Justin Bieber. Before the release of his fifth album, “=”, Ed Sheeran released the single “Bad Habits”. The “=” consists of 14 songs, one of which is the track “2step”, which Ed Sheeran will release next year in a duet version with the Ukrainian band Antytila. 

In 2023, Ed Sheeran released two studio albums, “-” and “Autumn Variations”, which included songs such as “Curtains”, “Eyes Closed”, “American Town”, and others. In 2025, the artist released his eighth full-length album, “Play”, followed by a world tour called “The Loop Tour”, which included concerts in the UK, Germany, Italy, the US, France, and other countries.

Ed Sheeran is one of the most popular singers in the world, and his work has been recognized with many awards, including several Grammys and more than five Billboard Music Awards. In addition to his music career, Ed Sheeran is also involved in acting and charity work.
