Yana Shemayeva (Jerry Heil) was born and raised in Vasylkiv, near Kyiv, in a family of traders. Her love for music manifested itself in her early childhood, and she started studying at a music school when she was only three years old. As a teenager, Yana began recording and publishing conversational videos on social media, including covers of songs by Okean Elzy, The Hardkiss, Twenty One Pilots, and others.

The path to musical success

In 2017, Jerry Heil decided to take her first steps towards a big music career, not solo, but with a friend. They decided to form a band, which did not last long. In addition to working with others, Jerry Heil continued to sing solo. One of her breakthrough performances was a medley on ДжемFM radio, which later played Yana's solo song “Де мій дім” on the air.

In the same year, Jerry Heil started working with Vidlik Records and released her first EP “Де мій дім”. After that, the young performer decided to take part in the X-Factor show, where she conquered 4 judges at the casting. Following the show, she presented her new song “Кава” and later her debut video for the track “Постіль”.

In 2019, Jerry Heil released the song "#ОХРАНА_ОТМЕНА", which was not only loved by listeners but also received music awards. A few months later, the singer presented her debut full-length album “#Я-ЯНА”, which included the above-mentioned song, as well as the songs “#ВІЛЬНА_КАСА”, “#НАТВЕРКАЙ”, “#БІЛІ_КРОСИ” and other songs with millions of streams. The following year, Jerry Heil took part in the National Selection for Eurovision, but did not win. In 2021, Jerry Heil released her second album “МАНДАРИНИ І ОЛЕНІ” and the EP “ОСОБИСТЕ”.

In 2022, she presented the joint EP “Dai Boh” with alyona alyona, and later she took part in the National Selection for Eurovision again, and although the result was better than the previous time, Jerry Heil did not go to represent Ukraine at the competition.

Dream to represent her country at the biggest Eurovision Song Contest became true later, Jerry Heil and alyona alyona represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “Teresa & Maria” and won the honorable 3rd place.

The year 2025 was full of exciting events. One of them was the nomination of the song “#AllEyesOnKids” for a Grammy Award. In the same year, the singer performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 as a guest vocalist and announced the points from Ukraine. Following this, Jerry Heil surprised with a duet with Within Temptation, with whom they released a joint song “Sing Like A Siren”.

Jerry Heil has many fans not only in Ukraine but also abroad. The singer actively collaborates with Ukrainian and international artists and brings Ukrainian music to a new, global level.
