The history of the band The Rasmus:
The musical group, which created such well-known compositions as "No Fear", "In the Shadows", "First Day of My Life", "Justify", "Sail Away", "Livin' in a World Without You" and others, was founded in Helsinki (Finland) in 1994. Back then, 15-year-old boys who studied together in high school founded the band Rasmus, which would later become one of the most famous Finnish rock bands. In early 1996, they signed a contract with Warner Music Finland. But a few years later, already popular in native country, they signed a new contract with the independent Swedish label Playground Music to develop not only in Finland but also abroad and changed their name to The Rasmus. And they succeeded, today The Rasmus is known almost all over the world.
The music of The Rasmus:
Less than a year after its foundation, the band released its first EP, and the following year, the musicians released their debut full-length album "Peep"(1996), immediately followed by the record "Playboys" in 1997, but the third album "Hell of a Tester" was not long in coming and was presented in 1998. After three fruitful years, the band took a break from releasing albums and the next album "Into" was released in the new millennium and featured the tracks "Chill", "Heartbreaker", "Last Waltz" and others.
The band's fifth album "Dead Letters", which included the most famous song in the band's career, "In the Shadows" (more than 300 million plays), was released in 2003, and also included the songs "First Day of My Life", "Funeral Song" and "Guilty". It was this album that became a breakthrough in the career of The Rasmus, selling more than 2 million copies worldwide, and the band received more than 10 music awards, not including the award for the single "In the Shadows".
The next album "Hide from the Sun" was released in 2005, and the seventh studio album "Black Roses" appeared in 2008, the latter including the song "Livin' in a World Without You". After that, the band also recorded the albums "The Rasmus" (2012), "Dark Matters" (2017), "Rise" (2022) and "Weirdo" (2025).
The Rasmus actively tour in support of their albums, playing in many countries, so their fan base is measured around the world.
