SKOFKA: Unique Style, Musical Influences, and Hits
SKOFKA, also known as Volodymyr Samoliuk, is one of the key figures in contemporary Ukrainian hip-hop. His style is characterized by a low vocal timbre, expressive lyricism, and an emphasis on the meaning of his lyrics. The artist often departs from standard genre stereotypes in favor of sincerity and a connection with the listener. SKOFKA's work has gained recognition among both listeners and industry professionals, as evidenced by his nominations and victory at the YUNA Music Awards. In particular, the rapper won the "Songs of Unbreakable Ukraine" award (for the song "Чути гімн") in 2023 and was nominated in the categories "Breakthrough of the Year" and "Best Hip-Hop Hit" (for the song "Додому" with the band KALUSH) in 2022.
From His First Releases and the ENKO Label to Becoming an Independent Artist
SKOFKA began his journey in Zdolbuniv, Rivne Oblast. After earning a degree in business, he chose a career in music. His first releases - tracks he created entirely on his own, from lyrics to arrangement and mixing - led SKOFKA to collaborate with the Ukrainian music label ENKO. The collaboration lasted about three years and significantly boosted the rapper's popularity on the Ukrainian music scene. Since then, the artist has continued to develop his career independently, releasing new songs and touring throughout Ukraine and abroad.
SKOFKA's Biggest Hits and Key Collaborations
The artist's early solo releases in 2020 - including "Шарф і Шапка," "А я б...," and "Балалайка" - caught the audience's attention, but his collaboration with KALUSH marked a major milestone in his career. Together, the musicians released the album "JO-JO," which included the song "Додому" - one of the most famous releases for both - and reached the top of the charts on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. In 2022, the rapper released the solo tracks "Не забудем і не пробачим" and "Чути гімн," with the latter dedicated to a friend who lost his life in the war. SKOFKA's other hits include "Погані сусіди," "Крузак," "V dorogu," "СІРНИК," "ЗАГЛОХ," and other tracks.
